About Nancy
Nancy is realizing a long-time dream by living in Hawai'i and working at Mauna Kea Realty is just the icing on the cake.A real estate agent since 1989, she is a licensed broker in both California and Hawai'i. Nancy's residential sales work has led her to seek out low-density, environmentally-conscious developments. The first one was in Northern California. "I spent 13 years selling The Sea Ranch, a planned unit development by Castle and Cooke subsidiary, Oceanic. It was an adventure! I enjoyed working in a community of open space and environmentally friendly homes. The Sea Ranch is an amazing planning feat" she explains. "I also really loved selling country properties and acreage back in California. The properties that I sell here on the Big Island are so much different; I enjoy it all!" Nancy has been around construction for almost 30 years, so she has a good understanding of that aspect of the business as well. "Having that knowledge is really helpful" she explains.
When she moved to the Big Island in 2002, Nancy had her eye on Mauna Kea Realty because she loved the resort. "I felt an instant connection to Mauna Kea and had been visiting there since 1973," she says. "It was truly the place that I wanted to be, with it's classic and timeless beauty and it's prestige." She was hired there in 2004 as a project agent for the new neighborhood of Wai'ula'ula.
"It's beautiful here! The homes are high quality, the neighborhoods are low-density, and in general we are a unique part of the island; so what we have to offer here at Mauna Kea does stand out from the rest of the choices that buyers have these days. The amenities within The Mauna Kea Resort are fabulous and it's such a peaceful and comfortable place, I love it! Multi-generations of families return to this special place year after year, all for good reason. It's going to be even more fabulous with the hotel and golf course re-opening! We are experiencing very exciting times here at Mauna Kea!"
Getting details right is among her strengths, as is her trustworthiness. "My clients trust me to do the right thing for them," she says. "I also am a pretty calm and easy going person and don't get rattled. People seem to appreciate that when going through the sales process."
Nancy has a son Jesse, who is 16 years old and attends Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea. "I love watching my son grow into a man! He is very much into baseball and I have been watching him play since he was 4! Being a parent is probably the most challenging, yet the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life!"
Nancy believes that challenges are only opportunities to live and improve on experiencing life. She welcomes the opportunities that come along with the challenges and feels very fortunate to be in the position that she is.
"I believe we create our own destinies and where I am today, what I am doing now, is right where I belong. I am a happy girl, I can't complain about a thing."
